Home Invasion Robbery 3xx Block of S Camac St DC 19 06 023865

On Thursday, May 23, 2019, at approximately 4:27am, the victim, a 72 year-old male, was outside of his residence on the 3xx block of South Camac Street packing his vehicle when he was approached by three (3) unknown black males all armed with guns demanding the victim's possessions. During the incident, the suspects observed the victim's wife, a 59 year-old female, at the door of their property. The suspects then barged their way into the home and held the victims at gunpoint while they ransacked the property. The suspects then fled the location in the victim's vehicle, however they exited the vehicle at the south end of the block and fled on foot and were last seen west on Pine Street where they were observed entering the Septa Broad Street Line Subway. Residential Burglary 4xx Block of Fairmount Ave DC 19 06 024285

On May 25, 2019, at 2:30AM, an unknown black male gained entry to a residence on the 4xx block of Fairmount Avenue through the front window. While inside the suspect was scared away when a resident came home and fled with a set keys. Suspect Description: Black male, beard, wearing distinctive clothing consisting of a black baseball cap, dark colored hooded sweatshirt, green camouflage pants, tan shoes, brown back pack and chain around his neck. Robbery Broad Street & Olney Ave DC 19 35 046152

On Saturday May 25, 2019 at 12:26PM the victim, a 21 year-old male, was walking towards the 5600 block of north Broad Street to wait for a bus, when suddenly offender #1 approached and punched the victim knocking them to the ground. While on the ground offender #1 continued to punch the victim about the head and body. During the assault the victim dropped his cell phone at which time offender #1 picked up the phone and fled the area on foot and was last seen west on Olney Avenue. Offender #2 approached the victim initially asking if they were "Ok" and "Was anything taken?" This offender then walks the victim into the subway and asks, "Do you have your wallet and cell phone?" The victim pulls out his wallet and offender #2 then takes $25 from the wallet then fled on foot in an unknown direction stating, "I’m going to look for the other guy." Suspect Description: Suspect #1: Black male, dark complexion, thin build, wearing a black t-shirt with a white logo on the front over a blue long sleeve shirt, dark colored pants and dark colored shoes. Suspect #2: Black male, medium complexion, medium build, mid 20's to early 30 years-of-age, beard, wearing a white t-shirt, dark colored sweatpants with white lettering on the right leg and white/black/gray sneakers with bright red at the back. On May 5, 2019 at approximately 3:50 AM, the an unknown black male was captured on surveillance video in the rear of the Whitman Check Cashing located at 2700 South Randolph Street climbing onto the roof. A second suspect the passes a bag of tool to the first suspect on the roof. The suspect then attempts to break in the check cashing agency through an apartment and after an unsuccessful attempt the suspects fled in an unknown direction. Commercial Robbery Shooting 1558 E Lycoming St DC 19 24 045972

On May 22, 2019, at 8:37 am, 24th District police responded to a radio call for a shooting inside of the Brito Mini Market located at 1558 East Lycoming Street. When police arrived they found the victim, a 40 year-old male, lying inside on the floor with a single gunshot wound to his left shoulder area and was transported to Temple Hospital where he was listed in critical condition. Surveillance video recovered from the store depicts three (3) unknown males wearing dark hooded sweatshirts and mask on their faces coming from the alleyway between Worrell Street and Lycoming Street. The suspects then enter the store and attempt to rob the victim behind the counter. Suspect #2 attempts to climb through the front opening of the register area while suspect #1 is holding a handgun and fires a shot at the victim striking him in the lft shoulder. Shooting Incident Victim 1084 Delaware Ave DC 19 26 019791

On May 17, 2019, at 12:59 am, the victim, a 43 year-old male, was involved in a physical altercation with an unknown Hispanic male (suspect #1 ). Words were exchanged when the victim was punched one time in his head causing him to fall to the ground. The victim was able to get to his feet when he saw the witness, a 45 year-old male, fist fighting with an unknown black male (suspect #2). When the victim attempted to call Police, the suspect #1, retrieves a handgun from a White colored newer model SUV and fired one shot towards the victim who was now inside his vehicle. Commercial Robbery 5725 N Broad St DC 19 35 043813

On Saturday May 18, 2019, at 1:15 PM, an unknown black male and black female entered Jen's Beauty Store located at 5725 North Broad Street. The male and the employees got into a verbal altercation at which time the male suspect began to threaten the employees and was asked to leave the store. Suddenly the suspect grabbed approximately $50 worth of merchandise from the counter area and fled the store followed by an employee. The employee returned to the store and attempted to lock the door at which time the suspect returned and began pulling on the door. The suspect kicked the victim in the stomach in an attempt to help the female (person of interest) leave the store. The suspect and the female fled on foot and were last seen South on Broad Street from the store. No injuries were reported. Suspect Description: Black male, mid to late teens, 5'6", medium build, wearing a dark colored jacket, dark colored shirt with white logo on the front, torn blue jeans and dark colored sneakers. Person of Interest: Black female, mid to late teens, thin build, wearing a pink jacket, pink bandana covering her hair, blue jeans and white slides on her feet. On May 16, 2019, at 4:00 pm, the victim, a 33 year-old female, was on the 200 block of South Broad Street waiting for an Uber when she was approached from behind by four unknown black males. One of the suspects grabbed the victim's phone while another grabbed her handbag. The complainant was able to retain her handbag but the offenders were able to make off with the victim's iPhone X valued at $1000. No injuries were reported during this incident. 5-year-old boy dies from Ebola as virus spreads to Uganda

Ebola has spread from the Democratic Republic of Congo to neighboring Uganda. A 5-year-old boy died from the virus after crossing the border into Uganda. His younger brother and grandmother are also infected. They are the first cases of Ebola in the country since the latest outbreak erupted in Congo last summer.
